Uses of blogs for educators
Through the use of blogs, educators now have a new tool for collaboration with colleagues. With the help of the internet, educators from all across the country can communicate and share their ideas that have worked in their school. This provides a wider range of concepts that teachers can use to enhance student learning.
Action Research
In today's ever changing world, educators must be prepared to face all sorts of new challenges. Action research gives educators the tools to develop measures specific to their campus and allows reflection and change. This process does not promote a stagnant campus culture, but one that can grow over time. As an administrator I can see how action research would be beneficial. I would promote collaboration to compile data and ask questions to stay one step ahead of the challenges we face on our campus. As a teacher I would use action research to reflect on my own classroom practices to constantly review student learning. Their are many ways to implement action research in our schools today. Any type of ongoing education is an action research tool. University coursework like the one I am currently engaged in and like the ones so many others are engaged in gives a great look into what new procedures are out there for teachers and administrators to use. Collaboration with administrators and teachers also falls under the action research umbrella. Leadership teams in schools are one type of collaboration that can address many concerns and lead to the developement of new strategies that work best for a particular school. Administrators now have the tools to combat many more challenges through the use of the strategies under action research.
